3 Chip Absorption Test Set up as per CISPR 22 (3 metres)

3.1.1 Equipment Open Area Test Site EMC Receiver HP HP 8591EM RF Pre-amp RT PR2G-25 Antenna AH Log Periodic Antenna SAS-200/500

3.1.2 Method A Mobile Phone Type Hyundai CDMA TX-60B was set up vertically 1.5 metres above a ground plane on a turntable at an Open Area Test Site (OATS). See Fig 1 & 2 A Log Periodic Antenna was set 1.5 meters above the ground plane and 3 meters from the mobile phone. The Phone was set to search mode in which it sends call signals towards a phone TX/RX tower. A computer controlled spectrum analyser logged the resultant emissions. Tests 1 to 4 (see below) were performed with the phone in normal operation with no chip incorporated; these tests were then repeated (Tests 5 to 8) with the chip inserted as instructed by the manufacturers. The following tests were conducted:
